What is CT Scanning?
Computed tomography, or CT scanning, combines X-ray images and computer processing to create highly detailed images of various areas inside the body. The X-ray images are taken from a variety of different angles which produce cross-sectional 3D images. This method allows medical professionals to virtually peer inside at individual slices of your bones, tissue, organs, etc. Smaller abnormalities can be detected much easier with the use of a CT machine.
